Day One: Manila
I am off! After catching two of my three flights without hiccup small delay and a long customs queue and Friday traffic all meant I missed my final connection to El Nido by 15 minutes! Looks like I’m staying the night in Manila, managed to reschedule the for 5:50 in the morning- a nice early rise.
Checking into Z-Hostel, a recommendation from a friend. A little further from the airport but looks to be a fun place to chill and recover while I’m stuck in Manila.
First thought of Manila:
- has a busy city feel with some crazy driving and grey concrete everywhere. A little like a more civilised Lima (Peru)
- most people seem to speak English and even the radio hosts speak English.
